Stork Procurement improvement program
After Stork’s procurement spend had been analysed early 2002 and some 20 projects were defined in order to realise savings, Emeritor was asked to lead this project. The main reason to get involved with Emeritor is the fact that Emeritor not only look at the new contracts, but especially the implementation of them.
Emeritor has, in the person of Cees Ubink, delivered a procurement director during this period and a small team of procurement specialists and advisors. Cees Ubink has developed a plan that has been executed in cooperation with the existing team of Stork.
In the period when Emeritor worked for Stork, they have successfully worked with joined forces at different projects: procurement projects as well as structure projects according to the Emeritor House of Procurement®. Creating awareness, the practical approach and the fact that a lot of attention is devoted to implementation, has led to Stork’s savings results of € 10 million in 2003.
Emeritor has succeeded to implement a number of structural changes in these procurement activities for Stork. End 2003 Stork has chosen to further implement the process themselves, with naming a CPO and to set up an own in-house organisation based on Emeritor’s recommendations and developed concepts.
